Bio
Tom Davis is a Columbus (OH) musician, who works primarily as a guitarist and bassist. He has performed in a variety of styles as both a bandleader and sideman throughout the US and UK, most regularly with local groups: Vaughn Weister’s Famous Jazz Orchestra, The Pete Mills B3 Quartet, Willie Nelson Mandela, Flogo Shaggins, Ray Massa’s Eurorhythms, The Quasi Kings, Spectrum, and more.
Davis also hits the road regularly with Melanie A Davis and the Madness and Andy Shaw Band. While living in Edinburgh, Davis toured and performed with top bands and artists in a variety of styles including award-winning jazz musicians Ali Affleck, Brian Kellock, Dick Lee, Ulysses Jones, and Callanish. Davis has recorded extensively with artists in the US and UK, including albums by Pete Mills, Melanie A Davis, Ali Affleck (UK), Dick Lee’s Swingtet (UK), Flogo Shaggins, Vaughn Weister’s Famous Jazz Orchestra, Bonzai Quartet (UK), Ulysses Jones (UK), and Korey Black. Davis earned a B.M. in Jazz Studies from Capital University in 2006 and a MMus degree in Musicology from The University of Edinburgh in 2011. He is currently serving on the jazz/contemporary music faculty at the Conservatory of Music at Capital University.
